Description

The Model F500 System is a medium  capacity (500 Curies Cesium 137)  BEAM Irradiator with an adjustable collimator.  The collimator meets ISO 4037 requirements for use at SSDL facilities.

The Model FT-60 Instrument Calibration Table is integrated with the Model F500 unit to provide discrete distances from source centerline.   The FT-60 system is available with up to three axis of movement and a 100 cm x 200 cm calibration table.

This integrated system is available with either analog or digital controllers.   The DoseTracker interface includes an exposure database.

Safety Measures

  • External Radiation Levels:  The Model F500 has very low external radiation levels, which average < 25 microSv/hr at the surface and < 10 microSv/hr at 30 CM from the surface of the device (OFF position)

  • ROOM Interlocks:   The Model F500 has multiple interlocks to prevent accidental personnel exposures.  Standard interlocks include door access, air pressure and Lock Out switch on the device.  Our PRE ALARM circuit requires a final inspection of the exposure chamber prior to an irradiation cycle.  A 500 kg electro-magnet LOCKS the door closed prior to initiation of an irradiation cycle
